Every day it is clearer to me that we are born with an objective to fulfill. We come into this world for more than just living, for a determined period of time, on a beautiful planet. When we are thrust into an unfamiliar path, destiny steps in to put before us those people or situations that lead us to reach our ultimate goal, avoiding an untimely death, or helping us to achieve a better tomorrow.

When I received an email from the United States requesting that I review and edit a manuscript, I did not imagine what I would find among those pages. Without a doubt, meeting Blanca De La Rosa was a gift that destiny offered me. Not only for discovering a great writer, but also for meeting an endearing person capable of inspiring those around her. Reading her novel meant learning a part of our Spanish history of that I did not know. But, above all, I discovered through the characters of her novel that we can achieve everything we set out to do.
The novel is written in a masterful way with four interconnected stories which focus on one of the main characters of a given era. After I completed my review of the manuscript, I placed it on the same level as (“The House of Spirits”) “La casa de los espíritus” by Isabel Allende. Her ability to maintain tension in the narrative, to transport the reader to a different era, and to make our hearts feel a reality that seems more like fiction, make her a great writer.
“Pursuing a Better Tomorrow” is not just a novel that portrays the history of three generations, but rather an inspiring cross-generational journey from Spain to the United States. The novel details a historical overview and the ideologies of each era where the characters portray the strength of character required to achieve a better tomorrow given the twists, turns, and synchronistic events that shaped their lives.
